Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She began by releasing funny, well-written rap songs that addressed issues like racial identification and sexuality. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. She also received the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention towards music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after completing her first two ventures as a musician and author. Aside from early TV programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. The actress made headlines in 2018 with a few high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
